Ison Couture Moves to New York City: A Founder Update From Erick Ison
Share
Ison Couture, the independent eyewear brand founded by Erick Ison, has moved its home base from Miami to New York City. The brand officially launched in Miami on April 1, 2025, and eighteen months later its design, collection releases, and day-to-day operations are run out of Manhattan.
A lot of you have been wearing these frames since the early drops, so I wanted you to hear this from me directly, along with how we got here and where Ison Couture is headed next.
Where Ison Couture Started
I built Ison Couture in Miami out of a frustration I couldn't take any longer. I kept walking into rooms where everyone wore the same handful of frames, and I wanted to give people something that made them memorable the moment they walked in. The collection that came to define the brand was built around bold square silhouettes in plant-based bio-acetate, made from cotton fibers and wood pulp, paired with polarized lenses and colorways like Citrus, the orange polarized frame that became the face of Ison Couture.
We grew the way I know how to grow, through pop-ups, direct messages, and real conversations with people one at a time, without leaning on paid advertising. The part I'm proudest of is what happened after the first purchase. Customers came back for a second pair, then a third, and many of them now own five or six. That repeat behavior is the clearest proof I have that these frames earn a permanent place in someone's rotation.
The Milestones That Set Up the Move
In 2026, Ison Couture was featured at Vision Expo in Orlando, the eyewear industry's premier trade event. That opportunity came from a connection I made at a yacht pre-party in Miami through Nico Roseillier of NOW 2026, and it put the brand in front of the buyers, designers, and industry leaders who shape where eyewear goes each year.
Around the same time, Ison Couture frames started appearing on camera through OmniSocial, the interview platform I run, where every guest receives a pair to wear during their interview. We also produced an editorial with personal trainer and Ison Couture customer Keith Bristol at Dirty Dog Fitness, showing how the frames stay on through a real workout.
Each of those moments pointed in the same direction. The brand had grown past the point of being a local Miami label, and I wanted to put it in the city where the fashion, media, and retail conversations about eyewear happen every single day.
Why New York City
New York puts Ison Couture on the same streets as the editors, stylists, boutique owners, and creative directors who decide what people will be wearing next season. The customers who connect most deeply with this brand are the ones who find things before their friends do and wear that discovery proudly, and this city is FULL of them. I moved here on a one-year lease to build the brand in person, the same way I built it in Miami, through relationships and by showing up in places that matter most.
Miami will always be where Ison Couture was born. New York is where I'm building the version of this brand that reaches the rest of the country.
What This Means for Ison Couture Customers
Every frame is still designed with the same intention, and our plant-based collections will still be made from the same material. Most styles are priced between $69 and $96, and will expect to rise due to the increase in premium value given by Ison Couture. With the price adjustment, I will be able to warranty the frames, give more, and seek alternative ways to give back.
The move also sets up the next wave of releases. A new collection drops at the beginning of October September 2026, an Anti-blue light line with dedicated daytime and evening lens options is in development, and optical and prescription frames are on the one-year roadmap. You'll hear about each of them here first.
TAP INTO YOUR VISION
That line has lived on this brand since day one, and it carries a little more weight now that I'm writing it from New York. If you've been with Ison Couture since Miami, thank you for carrying these frames into every room you've walked into. If you're discovering us for the first time here in New York, welcome to the family. Shop the collection at isoncouture.com and follow along on Instagram at @IsonCouture.us.
